Global configurators

A global configurator is a single configurator that several products share. You build it once, and every product linked to it offers exactly the same layers, choices and settings.

This is useful when you sell many products that are configured identically — for example a range of chairs that all come in the same fabrics and finishes, differing only in price, SKU or description.

Without global configurators you would have to rebuild (or copy) the same configurator onto every product, and update every copy whenever a fabric is added or discontinued. With a global configurator there is only ever one thing to edit.

Global configurators share an entire configurator. If you only want to reuse one layer — a set of colours, say — across products that are otherwise different, use Global layers instead. The two can be combined.
