Configurator themes

A configurator theme is the layout and look of the configurator the customer sees. It is independent of the WordPress theme: changing one does not change the other, and it does not change the layers or choices you have built.

The theme is chosen once for the whole shop. Colours and a few theme-specific options are then edited in the Customizer. To use a different theme on some products, see Using different themes on different products.

Selecting a theme

  1. Go to Product Configurator > Settings.
  2. Under Styling options, find Configurator theme. The current theme is shown with its name, description and preview.
  3. Press Change (or Select a theme if none is set).
  4. Choose a theme from the list, then press Select the theme.
  5. Save the settings.

New shops start on Float.

Some layer settings only appear when the selected theme supports them — Steps, Color swatches, Columns, and extra display modes. If an option you expect is missing, the current theme is the first place to look.

Customising the selected theme

Under the theme preview, Edit the theme settings in the customizer opens the WordPress Customizer on the Product Configurator section. That is where colours, the viewer background image, and theme-specific options live — for example light or dark mode on H.

The Customizer always applies to the currently selected theme. Switching theme can change which colour fields appear.

If WSB is selected, an extra setting appears on the settings page: Always show the choices (no toggle).

Available themes

These themes ship with the plugin. The name in backticks is the theme ID, used if you override the theme in code.

Default (default)

Layers in a sliding menu on the left, viewer on the right. Opening a layer slides its choices over the layer list.

Float (float)

The default for new shops. Viewer on the left, layers in floating cards on the right. Opening a layer expands its choices as an accordion, over a full-width background. Supports steps, color swatches, columns, full-screen display mode, and stretching a 3D canvas under the toolbar.

WSB (wsb)

A white sidebar on the right, with the same accordion pattern as Float but a solid panel instead of floating cards. Supports steps, color swatches and columns.

La Pomme (la-pomme)

A right-hand list of labelled choices, in a Silicon Valley store style. Color swatches sit at the top of a layer. Supports steps and color swatches.

Le Bolide (lebolide)

A split layout: viewer on the left, configuration on the right, each taking half the width. Inspired by the cargo e-bike Bolide, by kino.bike. Supports steps, color swatches, columns and compact-list display mode.

Clean (clean)

A clean, modern layout with layers as a narrow icon strip on the left. Choices open as a grid. Supports columns and color swatches.

Dark mode (dark-mode)

The same left sliding menu as Default, with a dark palette. Supports steps.

H (h)

Layers and choices displayed horizontally, in a bar along the bottom. Light and dark modes, and the choice width, are set in the Customizer.

Old default (old-default)

The previous default layout, kept for shops that prefer it. Same left sliding menu as Default.
